My community has given so much to me; it's where I raised my children. It has given me friends and a career I love. I want to give back. I'm such a strong believer in civic responsibility. It not only makes a difference in other people's lives, and strengthens the community; it enhances my own life.
I am an active member of Omega Nu, an organization that helps women, children, and families in need within Tuolumne County. I co-founded the Sonora Water Polo Foundation, which supports the high school water polo team. I have been a Girl Scout Leader and soccer coach, and helped build a local park- Heaven for Kids. I have served on the hospital Gala Committee that organizes events that raise funds for cancer patients and have organized auctions to raise funds for a local school. I also contribute financial support to Tuolumne County Land Trust and Meals on Wheels. Whether it's giving blood or working at a food bank, I do what I can to make a difference.
This year, the three organizations I've contributed to most are Meals on Wheels, Hospice of the Sierra and Cancer Patient Fund at Adventist Health.
